Mukta (Philippa Jarden) has been studying and teaching meditation and ancient scriptures, such as: Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, and Vedant Philosophy at the International Meditation Institute (IMI) Himalayas, India, since 1985. She was awarded a Doctor of Meditation from Vishwa Unnyayan Samsad, India, and holds a certificate of Advanced Studies in Yog Science, Vedant Philosophy, and the Theory and Practice of Meditation from the IMI, India. In addition the IMI also awarded her Peace Pioneer. She is also certified as an advanced Meditation Instructor from the Transformation Meditation Institute.
Mukta also taught pre-school and elementary school age children in a small school in India. She brought her knowledge and expertise of meditation and the yoga disciplines to the children she taught.
Born and raised in New Zealand she was an equestrian champion who trained and competed around the world.
